Faculty of Law representatives at a Workshop within the Project Free Media for the Western Balkans: Promoting Legal Education in the Field of Media Law, Democratization and the EU Accession Processes

Organized by the Europa Institute (University of Saarland) and the SEELS Center, a workshop was held as part of the Free Media for Western Balkans project: Promoting Legal Education in the Field of Media Law, Democratization and EU accession processes. Faculty of Law in Sarajevo representatives Doz. Dr. Damir Banović and Asst. Nasir Muftić, LLM attended the event. The workshop presented experiences regarding teaching and extracurricular forms of education in the field of media law and freedom of expression at law faculties in the region. Additionally, the workshop focused on the modalities of incorporating media law and freedom of expression in future law school teaching activities, jointly organizing an international conference, organizing a second summer school, and applying for future projects.
The University of Sarajevo Faculty of Law presented its experiences in organizing a Media Law Clinic in collaboration with INTERNEWS, whose implementation included the Media Regulatory Agency and the Press Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Also, activities on student participation in the Monroe Price Media Law Moot Court Competition were presented.

The workshop was held at the Iustinianus Primus Law School in Skopje (Northern Macedonia) on 8 November 2019.
