Faculty of Agriculture and Food Sciences, University of Sarajevo - Study Visit by Professors from the University of Bucharest
From 28 September to 3 October 2026, the Faculty of Agriculture and Food Sciences at the University of Sarajevo hosted Prof. Mihai Gîdeu and Prof. Tudor Șchiopu from the University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Bucharest, as part of the Erasmus+ KA171 staff mobility program.
During their visit, the guest professors presented their university as well as their own teaching and research activities. Their work focuses particularly on agrotechnics, modern crop production, precision and digital agriculture, smart farming, and the application of data in agricultural decision-making, as well as on ecology, sustainable agriculture, environmental protection, and climate-smart approaches in agricultural production.
As part of their stay, they met with the faculty leadership and visited the laboratories of the Institutes for Pedology, Agrochemistry, and Land Improvement, as well as the Butmir experimental field, where they familiarized themselves with the research and practical work of their colleagues at the Faculty. During these meetings, potential partners for preparing joint projects and future project activities were also identified.
The visit provided a valuable opportunity for exchanging experiences, strengthening institutional cooperation, and laying the groundwork for future joint teaching and research activities.
