Excellent Evaluations of University of Sarajevo Instructors and Its Overall Contribution in Implementing Northwestern University’s Summer Study Abroad Program Comparative Public Health: Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina 2022
Northwestern University (Evanston, Ill., the United States of America) has completed the evaluation process of University of Sarajevo instructors who participated in the summer study abroad program Comparative Public Health: Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina-Program 2022, held in Sarajevo from July 18- August 14, 2022. Following a break due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the summer program for US students coming to Serbia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina resumed last year, in its original concept that includes study trips in Sarajevo and Belgrade, classes, reflections, site visits, visits to museums, galleries, memorial centers, and public health institutions, among others, for an introduction to the history and culture of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with particular focus on the development of social relations and contemporary civil society promotion, as well as its role in confronting the past.
An integral part of Northwestern’s study abroad program is also the evaluation process upon the students’ return to the United States. The evaluation covers, as per referential parameters, all program aspects as implemented in Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The contribution of professors and of the University of Sarajevo overall to this program has been rated with high grades, and offered affirmative and inspiring comments, but also ideas and suggestions for the 2023 summer program. Based on the previous experiences in implementing the program, on the process of positive evaluations in the past, and given the multidisciplinary and interactive character of the program, with this program implementation, the University of Sarajevo has again demonstrated its dependable partner-status in executing demanding programs of international academic cooperation with universities of global excellence such as Northwestern University, USA.
