CS Assembly Session: Faculty of Health Studies Will Receive for Long-Term Use the “Student Center” Facilities
At the continued 27th session of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly of 5 October 2020, the Decision approving the Draft Agreement between the University of Sarajevo, the Faculty of Health Studies, University of Sarajevo and the Public Institution “Student Center” Sarajevo on long-term use of buildings Pavilion VIII and Pavilion IX, within this institution was adopted.
The Faculty of Health Studies, University of Sarajevo exists for 47 years and the issue of accommodation has not been resolved, and in the previous ten years this Faculty has allocated 2,423,202.02 KM from its own funds for renting space.
“Currently, the student service, library and Practical Skills Cabinet are located in part of the Department of Transport, while students of the Faculty attend the teaching process at eight different faculties of the University of Sarajevo. Part of the Faculty archives is stored in a private company to which the Faculty pays rent KM per month, from its own resources, while the equipment for the practical part of the classes is located at the Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology”, explained the Minister of Education, Science and Youth of KS Anis Krivić.
Pavilion VIII and Pavilion IX, which are located in the Bjelave student dormitories, and subject of the Agreement are not used for accommodation and meals for students-users of the services of the Public Institution “Student Center” Sarajevo.
Funds for the adaptation of facilities in the total amount of 2,000,000 BAM, which are covered by this agreement, represent deferred funds of the Faculty of Health Studies, University of Sarajevo from 2018 and are available in the Budget of Sarajevo Canton for 2020, and will not produce additional burden neither for the Budget of the Sarajevo Canton nor for the Budget of the University of Sarajevo.
The remaining 26 items, which were supposed to be discussed at today's continuation of the session, were withdrawn from the agenda.
