Cooperation between University „Adam Mickiewicz“ and University of Sarajevo Intensified
Delegation of the “Adam Mickiewicz” University in Poznan which made of Prof. Dr. Bogumila Kaniewska, Vice Rector, Prof. Dr. Boguslaw Zielinski, Institute for Slavonic Philology Director ans Izabela Lis-Wielgosz, Institute for Slavonic Philology Deputy Director, visited the University of Sarajevo on Monday, 1 April 2019, where they met with Rector, Prof. Dr. Rifat Šrrijelj and Vice Rectors: Prof. Dr. Aida Hodžić, Prof. Dr. Dženana Husremović and Prof. Dr. Maida Čohodar Husić. The meeting was attended by H.E. Jarosław Lindenberg, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Sci. Zineta Bogunić, Minister of Education, Science and Youth KS, Prof. Dr. Muhamed Dželilović, Faculty of Philosophy Dean, Dr. Alen Kalajdžija, Director of the Language Institute, and Prof. Dr. Sanjin Kodrić and Ass. Prof. Dr Amela Ljevo Ovčina, Faculty of Philosophy.
During the meeting, the successful academic cooperation so far has been highlighted, and concrete steps have been taken to improve cooperation as well as opportunities for better exchange of students and teachers within the framework of various European programs and projects.
One of the goals of the visit was to talk about the development of Polish Studies at our Faculty of Philosophy and the reciprocal establishment of the Bosnian Institute at the Institute of Slavonic Philology, University “Adam Mickiewicz” in Poznan. Recalling that in 1980s a Polish Language sub department at the Faculty of Philosophy was active and that there was a three-year study of Polish language and literature at the end of the 1980s and early 199s, the possibility of reopening the Polish Language sub department within the Department of Slavic Languages and Literature and the introduction Polish Language and Culture as Elective Courses for University Students in Sarajevo was discussed.
The University of Sarajevo and the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth KS have expressed their support for the project of the Polish Studies development project at the Faculty of Philosophy and Bosnian Studies at the Institute of Slavonic Philology, “Adam Mickiewicz” University in Poznan. It was concluded that in the forthcoming period, the University of Sarajevo, the University “Adam Mickiewicz” in Poznan and the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth KS will be sign a cooperation agreement.
University “Adam Mickiewicz” Vice-rector and Director of the Institute for Slavonic Philology will visit the University of Sarajevo during their visit to lecture and promote a new book by Prof. Dr. Sanjin Kodrić Studia on Literature Bośni i Hercegowiny: Global w lokalnym (Uniwersytet im Adama Mickiewicza w Poznani, Poznań, 2019). The event will be held in the UNSA Faculty of Philosophy Dean’s Office on Tuesday, 2 April 2019, at 12:00.
The new book by Prof. Dr. Sanjin Kodrić is the first book of a B-H scientist in the field of Bosnian literature ever published in Poland, or in Polish. The book publisher is a distinguished University “Adam Mickiewicz” from Poznan, whose Institute for Slavonic Philology is one of the most important European Slavic institutes.
