Chinese Teaching and Cultural Events Promotion Activities

On October 4, 2018, Prof. Dr. Muhamed Dželilović, Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Sarajevo, Associate Dean Lejla Hajdarpašić, and Deputy Dean Selma Đuliman visited the Confucius Institute at the University of Sarajevo for further discussion of cooperation. Co-director Miroslav Živanović, Dr. La Weixin, Chinese director of Confucius Institute at University of Sarajevo, Ms. Nina Karač, the project liaison and all 6 Chinese teachers attended the discussion. Mr. La introduced the traditional Chinese calligraphy, Chinese painting, Chinese musical instruments and the development of the Institute to the guests. All visitors were impressed by Chinese traditional cultures and experienced the charm of Chinese calligraphy. Director La also gave a traditional Chinese painting to Dean Dželilović and Chinese knots symbolizing harmony and unity to the guests as gifts, and the two sides expressed the best wishes for the coming cooperation.
Both two sides decided to work on starting the cooperation as early as possible. During the meeting a timetable and some specific issues for the comprehensive cooperation such as in Chinese language teaching and joint cultural exchanges were discussed and decided. It has been clearly agreed to establish a Chinese department in the faculty and Chinese language courses will begin from next semester in spring 2019.  
This is the second fruitful meeting of the two organizations since September 2018, which laid a solid foundation for the cooperation and will highlight Chinese learning as well as Chinese cultural events and benefit for "One Belt, One Road“ development.
