The 5th Joint Scientific “Western Balkans Process” (Berlin Process) Conference
The fifth joint scientific conference within the “Western Balkans Process“(Berlin Process), under the title “Fresh Expectations for Research and Education across Europe” is taking place in London from 28 to 30 May 2019 at the Royal Society. It is focused on two topics: “The Responsibility of Science for Society, Especially in Reconciliation” and “Communication of Science.”
The expected rollout is a series of recommendations and ideas on the two topics, with the aim of supporting inter-social convergence and reconciliation in Southeast Europe and the stronger role of scientific knowledge in policy-making and society. Recommendations will be included in the 6th Western Balkans Summit of Heads of State and Government, to be held on 5 July 2019 in Poznań, Poland. Also, this conference provides an opportunity to discuss the latest achievements in education, research and innovation in the Western Balkans and the Berlin Process.
At the conference organized by the Royal Academy of Sciences in Great Britain and the German Academy of Sciences Leopoldina, representatives of national academies of science and arts, rector conferences, and prominent scientists participate. The University of Sarajevo is taking part in the conference by the Rector Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj, as well as Prof. Dr. Adnan Efendić. Participants from Bosnia and Herzegovina are: President of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of BiH Prof. Dr. Miloš Trifković, Vice-rector of the University of Banja Luka Prof. Dr. Goran Latinović, and a doctor of the University-Clinical Center Tuzla, Amra Šakušić. The event is also attended by Prof. Dr. Vesna Bojičić-Dželilović, LSE as well as Doz. Dr. Adnan Mehonić with UCL.
