100th Anniversary of the Lithuanian National Library “Martynas Mažvydas”
On the occasion of the centenary, the Lithuanian National Library “Martynas Mažvydas” organized an international research conference “21st Century Libraries: Traditions and Innovations” on 15 November 2019.
The conference and panel discussion on library cooperation and partnerships were also attended by a number of directors of national libraries, among them Dr. Ismet Ovčina, Director of the National and University Library of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Janne Andresoo, Director General of the National Library of Estonia, Andris Vilks, Director of the National Library of Latvia, Dr. Tomasz Makowski, Director General of the National Library of Poland, Prof. Dr. Renaldas Gudauskas, Director General of the National Library of Lithuania, Karin Grönwall, Director General of the National Library of Sweden, Dr. Tatijana Petrić, Director General of the National and University Library in Zagreb, M.Sc. Frymzim Dauti, Director of the National and University Library “St. Kliment Ohridski”, Dr. Krasimira Alexandrova, Director of the National Library of Bulgaria, etc.
The time between presentation and discussion was used to exchange experiences and discuss possible collaboration and realization of upcoming projects. President of the Republic of Lithuania Gitanas Nauseda also spoke at the ceremony.
