UNSA Language Institute Days
The UNSA Language Institute will celebrate on 4 March 2018 its 46th anniversary. As it is already known, 21 March is the International Mother Tongue Day. After the last year's successful event, we decided to turn this event into a traditional one.
The content of the event is somewhat different from last year's ones. This year in the first plan is a meeting with representatives of the Institute for Macedonian Language “Krste Misirkov” from Skopje and the Faculty of Montenegrin Language and Literature in Cetinje. The reception will be organized through solemn events, the promotion of all three institutions and discussions on the theme of the challenges facing Southern Slavistics and Bosnian-Macedonian cultural linguistic ties, as well as the Montenegrin language and contemporary Montenegrin culture. The event will be held on several occasions from 5-7 March 2018.
In addition, the Language Institute will promote its publications in Banja Luka on 1 March, at the Bosniak Institute in Sarajevo on 5 March and Konjic on 20 March, and on the topic “Bosanian Language and BH socio-political context” in Bijelo polje on 21 March, Vareš on 22 March, Bugojno on 23 March, Prijedor on 28 March, Banja Luka on 1 March and Glamoč on 12 March.
As part of this event, lectures will be held for elementary and high school students. Unlike last year, when more guest visits were organized at the Institute's premises, as well as Institute’s visit to schools, this year we decided to join all the Sarajevo school students at the International Mother Tongue Day on 21 February in a lecture on language development identity in the Multimedia Center MAK, in cooperation with the Sarajevo University Library. Additionally, on 12 March, Institute representatives will hold a lecture for students from Glamoč. Finally, as a preliminary, a digital presentation of the 100 Bosnian language dictionaries will be held on 23 February 23 in the Second Sarajevo Lyceum. This presentation is planned to be further streamlined and distributed in the future.
