ECOBIAS: Introduction of a new curriculum for master studies and equipping the laboratory
On 22 September 2020, the ECOBIAS project ("Development of a master curriculum in environmental monitoring and assessment of aquatic biological studies for the Higher Education Institution of the Western Balkans") was presented at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, University of Sarajevo. As this project was pointed out, it should have resulted in the introduction of a new curriculum for master studies, equipping the laboratory and further connecting with universities in the region. Through the project, the University of Sarajevo will develop new master programs in the field of ecological monitoring of aquatic ecosystems.
On 21 September, a meeting of the ECOBIAS project consortium institution member management was held at the University of Sarajevo institution member, where Rector Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj made an address. From 22 to 24 September, workshops were held at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, in which representatives of 11 universities in the consortium participated.
The ECOBIAS project (“Development of a Master Curriculum in Environmental Monitoring and Aquatic Bioanalysis for Higher Education Institutions in the Western Balkans”) aims to develop and improve the knowledge, skills, technical resources of higher education institutions in partner countries in environmental monitoring and biological assessment of freshwater resources in line with national and EU policy.
The project is coordinated by the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, University of Novi Sad. The project consortium consists of 11 universities from five countries. In this call, universities from Serbia were applied for the first time as program universities (University of Novi Sad and University of Nis), with universities from Croatia (University of Zagreb) and Germany (Universität Duisburg-Essen), and with partner universities from Bosnia and Herzegovina. (University of Mostar, Travnik International University, University of Tuzla, University of Sarajevo, University of East Sarajevo and University of Banja Luka) and a partner from Montenegro, the University of Donja Gorica.
