Institute for History Presented Prilozi no. 48 and Historijska traganja no. 18
Two new issues of scientific journals published by the UNSA Institute for History were presented at the UNSA Rectorate on 28 January 2020.
These Institute of History’s scientific journals are recognizable editions having a long tradition, as the journal Prilozi has been periodically published since 1965 and
the journal Historical Searches since 2008. New issue of Prilozi no. 48 is the result of the research efforts of the authors, who bring inspiration and motivation to further work, critical thinking, fostering tolerance for a different approach, readiness for critical dialogue and refinement in the historiographic skill.
ENES OMEROVIĆ, research associate at the Institute of History and the promoter of the publication, said: “They chronologically span from the 19th century to the modern age. Thematically, they are quite different, methodologically too. There are many papers that are methodologically very inventive, dealing with topics that no one has dealt with so far and not in this way.”
The new issue of “Historijska traganja” did not have a strict thematic framework, but it contains works from all periods studied at the Institute. Original scientific, review and expert papers, as well as reviews from all historical disciplines, have been published in it for the first time.
DŽENITA RUJANAC, promoter of “Historijska traganja”, stated: “The news is that in the second block we are translating two articles, one from 2018 and the other is a translation of an article by the famous professor Hamdija Čemerlić, former University of Sarajevo Rector, who was published in 1968 in Prilozi No 4”.
SEDAD BEŠLIJA, Institute for History AD and the moderator of the promotion, said: “The innovation is that since last year, all issues of both magazines on our website have been digitized. Researchers, both from our country and from abroad, have the opportunity to now access the results of our research in a more modern way.”
The Institute of History, as an organizational unit of the University of Sarajevo in 2019, celebrated its 60th anniversary, testifying to the continuity of society's need for constant critical questioning of the past.
