University of Sarajevo Presented Research Activities at European Researchers' Night
The European Researchers' Night, an event promoting science and research in Europe, is being staged today in nine cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The European Researchers' Night is an event that has been organized at the European Commission’s initiative since 2005 and is a part of the Horizon 2020 program, which brings together a large number of visitors and researchers in nine cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina (Banja Luka, Bijeljina, Brčko, Goražde, Konjic, Mostar, Sarajevo, Trebinje, Tuzla). The Researcher's Night was created to promote research, encourage young people to reflect on researchers' careers, and to raise awareness of the impact of various research on everyday life. The event is an opportunity to meet exceptional people who are active in these fields in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The University of Sarajevo participated in the program’s implementation within the Science and Innovation Fair by presenting research activities of nine organizational units to the expert community, the youthful potential students population, and the general BH public. The Academy of Performing Arts, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Political Science, Faculty of Sports and Physical Education, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Agriculture and Food, Veterinary Faculty and Language Institute presented their activities in 20 interactive demonstration booths.
The University of Sarajevo has presented a part of its R&D capacity in this way, and the exceptional attendance of our presentations speaks of UNSA's contribution to the development of society through excellence in science, art and research.
This year, the Researchers Night of Bosnia and Herzegovina has a mission to show that science permeates every aspect of our lives and that science is fun. The goal of Researchers’ Night is to promote science and research as well as to raise awareness among the general public about the impact of research on everyday life.
The slogan of this year's event is “Let's STEAM! Let's Create New Opportunities” to celebrate the creative side of science as well as the creative process of scientific achievement. STEAM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Entrepreneurship, Art, Mathematics, and “European Researcher's Night” is an opportunity to meet exceptional people who are active in these fields in BiH.
