A Cooperation Agreement signed between the University of Sarajevo, Faculty of Sports and Physical Education, and KJP "ZOI’84" Olympic Center Sarajevo

Today, at the UNSA Rectorate, a Cooperation and Business-Technical Understanding Agreement was officially signed between the University of Sarajevo, the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education, and KJP "ZOI’84" Olympic Center Sarajevo Ltd. The agreement was signed by Rector of the University of Sarajevo Prof. Dr. Tarik Zaimović, Dean of the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education Prof. Dr. Ifet Mahmutović, and General Director of KJP "ZOI’84" Admir Bukva.
The purpose of the Agreement is to strengthen cooperation in the fields of sports, education, and scientific research, as well as to support student sports activities and the development of young talents. The agreement foresees joint projects, testing and evaluation, staff exchanges, organization of seminars, conferences, and workshops, as well as other activities in accordance with the activities of the signatories.
Rector Prof. Dr. Tarik Zaimović emphasized the importance of involving the University in all aspects of student life, reminding that the University advocates for bringing sports back into everyday life and cultivating healthy habits among students. The agreement is viewed as the first step toward long-term cooperation and the strengthening of sports culture at the University of Sarajevo.
General Director of KJP "ZOI’84" Admir Bukva explained that the University will have access not only to sports halls but also to the Olympic centers at Bjelasnica and Igman. It was emphasized that the goal is to revive the student league, support young athletes, and develop talents who will represent Bosnia and Herzegovina on the world stage.
Dean of the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education, Prof. Dr. Ifet Mahmutović, highlighted the role of the Faculty in directing school sports and creating an educational base for the development of young athletes. He also underlined that the goals include children’s, youth’s, and students’ health, strengthening of the professional teaching staff, daily involvement of students, and the return of student leagues to the University.
The signed Agreement is concluded for a period of four years and foresees continuous cooperation among the signatories, including the possibility of additional agreements and annexes for special projects.
The agreement represents an important step toward systemic improvement of sports and education at the University of Sarajevo, strengthening academic and social responsibility, and supporting young talents and healthy lifestyles within the community.
