The 9th International Tourism and Hospitality Management Congress (ITHMC) opened
The ninth International Tourism and Hospitality Management Congress (ITHMC) was officially opened today at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics of the University of Sarajevo, and will be held from 18 to 22 October 2023.
The Congress was opened with welcoming speeches by Prof. Dr. Dušanka Bošković, UNSA Vice-Rector for Quality, Prof. Dr. Nusret Drešković, Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, University of Sarajevo, and Prof. Dr. Miha Koderman, professor of the Department of Geography at the University of Primorska in Koper.
Vice-Rector Bošković emphasized the importance of organizing such scientific events in Sarajevo, a city where tourism has a special place, as she stated, and where as such it can prosper and go in the direction of improving the economy of the city, the canton, and even the country.
Dean Drešković thanked the co-organizers and welcomed the participants, and expressed his expectation that this year's congress will produce quality scientific results.
Prof. Dr. Miha Koderman, with his introductory lecture entitled "Current Challenges in the Geographical Research on Second Home Tourism", expressed his satisfaction for attending such a congress, citing Sarajevo as his second favorite city.
The Congress was organized by the Department of Geography of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, University of Sarajevo, with partner universities: Akdeniz University and Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University from the Republic of Turkey, with the technical support of Zenith Group.
The goal of the Congress is to bring together leading scientists and researchers in the field of tourism, in order to share their experiences and results of scientific and professional research that directly or indirectly relate to all aspects of the study of tourism and hotel management.
The papers presented at the scientific meeting, after the review process, will be published in the Journal of Tourism and Hospitality Management, published by the University of Sarajevo - Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics.
