Cooperation between the University of Sarajevo and the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice announced
University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice Rector, Prof. Dr. Bohumil Jirousek and Vice-Rector for International Relations, Doz. Dr. Radka Zavodska visited the University of Sarajevo on 25 October 2021, where they met with Rector, Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Enita Nakaš, Head of the International Cooperation Service, Dr. Jasna Bošnjović and a Senior Expert Associate, M.Sc. Adnan Rahimić.
During the meeting, the successful academic cooperation that takes place through the Erasmus+ program - international credit mobility, in which three organizational units of the University of Sarajevo participate: the Faculties of Political Sciences, Catholic Theology and the Faculty of Health Studies, and the partner Faculties from the University of South Bohemia. This cooperation is implemented within the study programs of theology, political science, nursing and physiotherapy.
The importance of inter-university cooperation was discussed, and steps to improve the current cooperation with a focus on student and teacher mobility, as well as joint participation and work on projects, were discussed.
The meeting ended with the expressed readiness of the representatives of the University of Sarajevo and the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice to establish institutional cooperation and sign a memorandum of understanding, and the necessary administrative procedures will be undertaken in the coming period.
The University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice (https://www.jcu.cz/cz/) was founded in 1991, has over 9,000 students and has 220 study programs. This university consists of 8 faculties: Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Philosophy, Faculty of Pedagogy, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Faculty of Fisheries and Water Protection, Faculty of Theology, Faculty of Health and Social Sciences and Faculty of Agriculture. The University of South Bohemia offers 40 study programs in foreign languages (English, German).
