BH public universities rectors discussed current academic issues
Today, the Rectors’ Conference of BiH in Bihać at a regular session discussed the implementation of teaching in the academic year 2019/20. After a long elaboration of all rectors of public universities in BiH, it was concluded that the universities successfully completed the previous academic year despite all the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The public universities rectors exchanged experiences at the beginning of the current academic year. All universities will start with a combined teaching model, which includes teaching in the classical form in accordance with the epidemiological conditions and regulations of the competent authorities, and online teaching. This model, which is also applied by European universities, is considered by the rectors to be optimal, both for students and for teachers and non-teaching staff, for the benefit of their health.
At the beginning of the academic year, rectors of public universities noticed increased media pressure on universities and a lack of understanding of academic working conditions at the time of the coronavirus. Rectors call for universities not to be associated with political processes and the upcoming local elections.
The public universities rectors have adopted the financial plan of the Rectors’ Conference for 2020.
