Meeting of the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the University of Sarajevo Rector
H. E. Gholamreza Alimohammad Ghelichkhan, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Consul for Culture Amir Hosseini Nouri and Consul for General Diplomacy Jaaber Vasigh visited the University of Sarajevo on 24 November 2021, where they met with Rector, Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Enita Nakaš, Vice-Rector for Arts, Artistic Research, Culture and Sports, Prof. Dr. Tamara Karača-Beljak and the head of the Service for International Cooperation, Dr. Jasna Bosnjovic.
During the meeting, talks were held with the aim of strengthening cooperation between higher education institutions of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the University of Sarajevo. The excellent cooperation between the University and the Embassy of the Republic of Iran in BiH was emphasized, and the significant support of the Embassy was especially emphasized, thanks to which classes at the Department of Persian Language and Literature of the Department of Oriental Philology, Faculty of Philosophy, University of Sarajevo.
After the introductory presentation of the work and development of the University of Sarajevo, they discussed the current economic and cultural cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is at the highest level, and expressed readiness to intensify cooperation in education. In the past, the University of Sarajevo has had several forms of cooperation with higher education institutions in Iran, and currently has two active agreements with the University of Tehran and the Institute for Humanities and Cultural Studies in Tehran.
In order to conclude new partnerships, various forms of cooperation and connecting the academic communities of Iran and BiH, the meeting discussed opportunities for exchange of students, teaching, scientific and non-teaching staff, as well as strengthening interuniversity ties through various models of academic and cultural cooperation and possible forms of cooperation. between the University of Sarajevo and the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in BiH.
