Establishment of cooperation between Uludag University in Bursa and the University of Sarajevo
Prof. Dr. Bülent Şenay, academic coordinator for international cooperation of Uludag University in Bursa (Turkey) visited the University of Sarajevo on 17 November 2021, where he met with Rector, Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Prof. Dr. Enito Nakaš, Head of the International Cooperation Service, Dr. Jasna Bošnjović and associate Mr. Sc. Adnan Rahimić. On that occasion, the representative of Uludag University in Bursa handed over a letter of interest for establishing cooperation with the University of Sarajevo. During the meeting, they discussed the importance of inter-university cooperation, and the possibilities of achieving academic cooperation between the University of Sarajevo and Uludag University. The meeting ended with a strong mutual readiness to establish institutional cooperation and sign a memorandum of understanding, and the necessary administrative procedures will be undertaken in the coming period.
Uludag University was founded in 1975 under the name University of Bursa. Since 1982, it has been operating under the name Uludag University in Bursa. It consists of 15 faculties: Medical, Economic, Veterinary, Agricultural, Philosophical, Pedagogical, Theological, Legal, Technical, Dental Faculty, Academy of Fine and Performing Arts, Faculty of Sports and Faculty of Health Studies, and two schools, 15 vocational schools, one conservatory, four institutes, 21 research centers and five departments within the Rectorate. Since June 2021, it has been the holder of the ISO 9001-2015 certificate for the quality system awarded by their national agency for higher education.
