UNSA Vice-Rector for Arts, Culture and Sports visits the Academy of Performing Arts and the Academy of Music
Academy of Performing Arts Dean, Prof. Srđan Vuletić with Vice Dean For Development, Finance And Production Prof Faruk Lončarević hosted on 8 October 2020, Prof. Dr. Tamara Karača Beljak, newly appointed Vice-Rector for Arts, Culture and Sports, University of Sarajevo.
The topic was the improvement of mutual cooperation with three University of Sarajevo’s Academies, as well as the strengthening of the connection of these institutions with the Service for Arts, Culture and Sports, UNSA. Prof. Dr. Tamara Karača Beljak emphasized the importance of artistic work and activities of the academies of the University of Sarajevo, emphasizing the need for a higher degree of visibility of these important institutions for our society as a whole, and proposed the formation of a kind of archive of events organized by the Academies.
Academy of Performing Arts Dean, Prof. Vuletić informed the Vice-Rector about the current events at this Academy, emphasizing the need to harmonize legal regulations and acts, which are not clearly defined when it comes to the work of academies. There was also talk of starting doctoral studies in art, for which there is a growing need day by day. It was also agreed to launch a joint art magazine for the purpose of presenting the work of these institutions.
At the University of Sarajevo Music Academy, Vice-Rector for Arts, Culture and Sports was welcomed by the Dean, Prof. Mr. Sc. Alšer Sijarić with his associates, emphasizing the need to solve the space of the Academy, because the existing one is not adequate for the smooth realization of the teaching and artistic process at this academy. Prof. Dr. Tamara Karača Beljak pointed out the fact that the activities of Art Academies cannot and must not remain within the borders of these institutions, but that it must be recognized as an activity of the University of Sarajevo itself. There was also talk about improving the work of the information system and its support for the work of academies, as well as the engagement of external professors at this academy.
On behalf of the Service for Arts, Culture and Sports, the meetings were attended by the head of the Service, M.Sc. Mirza Nakičević and Mr. Sc. Adela Nurković-Kulenović.
In the following period, a visit to the Academy of Fine Arts is also planned, which will complete the visit to the three Academies of the University of Sarajevo.
