Promotion of a book by Doz. Dr. Emir Tahirović and Doz. Dr. Ermin Kuka at the UNSA Faculty of Administration

On 25 September 2020, at the Faculty of Administration of UNSA, a promotion of a book “Fundamentals of Public Policy” by Doz. Dr. Emir Tahirović and Doz. Dr. Ermin Kuka took place. The promoters were academician Prof. Dr. Mirko Pejanović, Prof. Dr. Elmir Sadiković and Dr. Dritan Abazović.
At the very beginning, through a video call, Dr. Abazović thanked the authors for the opportunity to address and pointed out that the textbook "Fundamentals of Public Policy" is of great importance. He also expressed his wish to come to Bosnia and Herzegovina soon, as well as to the Faculty of Administration.
Author Doz. Dr. Kuka stated that the textbook entitled "Fundamentals of Public Policy" is a significant and important work for understanding the importance and need for policy making. “Public policies are extremely complex and heterogeneous, so their analysis alone is not enough. In this context, the textbook combines a positive-political and economic approach and thus exactly reveals the limitations and current problems of the functioning of public choice.”
Faculty of Administration Dean and an author, Doz. Dr. Emir Tahirović, pointed out that the textbook “Fundamentals of Public Policy” is the first edition of the prepared lectures on this introductory subject. “This edition is primarily intended for full-time and part-time students of the Faculty of Administration - an associate member of the University of Sarajevo, as well as all other students who study and take this course according to the current curriculum at home faculties. The content of the textbook is basically adapted to the curriculum as a mandatory framework for this subject. In designing this textbook, a modern approach to public policies has been applied with the aim of facilitating the understanding of the complex subject matter of this subdiscipline of political science. In addition, the textbook enables systematic study of problems and theories related to public policies and analysis of public policies, which is an important condition for successful education of students from various fields of social sciences, as well as their competence in knowledge of fundamental knowledge in the field of public policy” said Dean Tahirović.
