The nekropola.ba platform promoted at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Sarajevo
At the press conference held on 6 February 2020, a unique research platform nekropola.ba was presented at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Sarajevo.
The nekropola.ba platform is a project to preserve the cultural heritage of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The project was initiated by Professor Edin Bujak from the Department of Archeology and implemented by the software company Klika from Sarajevo in cooperation with the Institute of Archeology, Faculty of Philosophy, University of Sarajevo.
This platform supports the initiative to list the stećak tombstones and necropolises in the Balkans, and was implemented as a part of the Give Back Campaign by Klika, within the KLIKA PRACTICE program.
The attendees were addressed by: Doz. Dr. Amir Duranović, Vice-Dean for International Cooperation and Research, Edin Bujak, Professor at the Department of Archeology, Prof. Dr. Adnan Kaljanac, Head of the Institute of Archeology, Halida Nuhanović, software engineer from Klika who worked on the project development, Iva Domljan, Product Owner on the nekropola.ba project, and Latifa Imamović, Klika's Marketing Manager.
Halida Nuhanović is one of the software engineers who, together with her fellow practitioners within KLIKA PRACTICE and with the help of a team of mentors, experienced Klika engineers worked on the development of the nekropola.ba research platform for three months.
According to the address by project partner, Iva Domljan, project Product Owner presented to all attendees the main functions of both parts of the nekropola.ba platform: the research and presentation ones.
Latifa Imamović pointed out that she hoped that the nekropola.ba project would serve as an inspiration to other companies, educational and cultural institutions, for future cooperation.
The nekropola.ba research platform was realized under the partnership of the Institute of Archeology, Faculty of Philosophy, University of Sarajevo, and the software company Klika and available for user downloads from App Store or Google Play.
