Music Academy Students participated in the performance of “La Boheme” at the Montenegrin National Theater
On 9 January 2020, five Sarajevo Music Academy students were invited to Podgorica (Montenegro) to participate in the performance of “La Boheme” by Italian composer Giacomo Puccini, whose Montenegrin premiere was on 21 January. On 21, 23 and 25 January it was re-performed at the Montenegrin National Theater. This is the first such project (opera) in Montenegro.
Music Academy students (Adnan Rekić, 1st year, MTP; Bakir Samardžić, 1st year, Conducting; Eldar Alajbegović, 2nd year, MTP; Bakir Memišević and Neven Miličević Capek, 4th year, MTP) were members of the Opera Choir tenor on this occasion. This project gave them the opportunity to collaborate and learn from famous names in the world of opera music, such as conductor Alberto Veronesi, then piano player, conductor and composer Francesco Barbagelata, soloists Ivana Čanović, Olivera Tičević, Marko Kalajanović, Davide Mura, and director Andrea Tocchio.
“La Boheme” is the result of cooperation between the Montenegrin National Theater in Podgorica, the Music Center of Montenegro, the Ministry of Culture of Montenegro, the Puccini Foundation, the Embassy of the Republic of Italy in Montenegro, the Foundation Cultura Classica and the Italian Cultural Center in Belgrade.
