UN Arabic Language Day Marked at the Faculty of Philosophy
On 18 December 2019, students of the Department of Arabic Language and Literature, Department of Oriental Philology, University of Sarajevo Faculty of Philosophy organized a commemorative program to mark International Arabic Day.
The program, realized in cooperation with the subject teachers and associates, and thanks to the support of the Dean's Office and the Faculty's service departments offered the basic information about the Arabic language, the countries in which it is used, and through recitals, poetic expressions in Arabic, plays and motivational speeches conveying the love of study and the subject of study. The introductory address was delivered by Academician Esad Duraković.
Arabic language and literature have been taught at the Faculty of Philosophy since the Faculty’s foundation (in 1950), within the Department of Oriental Philology (formerly the Department of Oriental Languages, the Department of Oriental Languages and Literatures, and the Department of Oriental Studies).
