Three Events on Gender Equality in Higher Education at the Faculty of Law
Three events were held at the UNSA Faculty of Law on 8 and 9 November 2019 to discuss gender equality in higher education.
Promotion of the Proceedings “Gender Equality: Theory, Law, Policies - An Introduction to Gender Studies for Students of Social Sciences” was held on 8 November 2019. The Proceedings publishers are the Sarajevo Open Center and the Faculty of Law in Sarajevo. Emina Bošnjak (Executive Director of the Sarajevo Open Center), Doz. Dr. Midhat Izmirlija (University of Sarajevo), Saša Madacki (University of Sarajevo) and Proceedings organizers – Saša Gavrić and Amila Ždralović presented the Book of Proceedings.
A day later, the conference “Gender Equality at Universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina: Regional Experiences, Local Context, Challenges Facing Us” was co-organized by the Sarajevo Open Center and the Faculty of Law, University of Sarajevo. The conference was designed to take place through two panels discussing the genderization of the teaching process, research activities, as well as internal processes and structures at universities, through the prism of regional and BH experience. Within the first panel “Gender Studies in the Social Studies Curriculum,” spoke Prof. Dr. Milena Karapetrović (University of Banja Luka), Prof. Dr. Jasna Bakšić Muftić (University of Sarajevo) and Prof. Dr. Nevena Petrušić (University of Niš). Within the second panel “Unification of Internal Processes and Structures in Universities: Regional and BH experience,” spoke Dr. Zorana Antonijević (University of Novi Sad), Saša Madacki (University of Sarajevo) and Doz. Dr. Jasna Kovačević (University of Sarajevo).
The conference ended with the promotion of the Proceedings “Gender Equality in Higher Education: Concepts, Practices and Challenges.” This publication was presented by Dr. Zorana Antonijević (University of Novi Sad, an organizer) and Prof. Dr. Nevena Petrušić, University of Niš, an author.
