Round Table “Guidelines for the Advancement of the Teaching Profession” Held
On Saturday, 5 October 2019, a round table “Guidelines for the Advancement of the Teaching Profession” was held at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Sarajevo.
On this occasion, the project “Guidelines for the Advancement of the Teaching Profession” research team presented the results of a two-year project supported by the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of KS and the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Sarajevo. At the same time, World Teachers' Day was celebrated.
The research project “Guidelines for the Advancement of the Teaching Profession” was implemented in two stages: in the academic 2017/2018 and 2018/2019. The project analyzed relevant policy documents of European and world countries, examined the educational needs of teachers/pedagogues/psychologists in primary and secondary schools in Sarajevo Canton, as well as the recognition of the role of the school's pedagogical and psychological team in teacher professional development activities. The next phase of the research project is the preparation, writing and publication of the Manual for the Professional Development of Teachers/ Associates (Educators/Psychologists and Educators and Psychologists).
The roundtable participants were addressed by the UNSA Vice-Rector for Research, Prof. Dr. Dženana Husremović and Faculty of Philosophy Vice-Dean for Research and International Cooperation, Doz. Dr. Amir Duranović.
The roundtable was moderated by the research project head, Doz. Dr. Emina Dedić Bukvić. Team members, ie representatives of individual UNSA Faculties and Academies: Prof. Dr. Meliha Zejnilagić-Hajrić (Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics), Prof. Dr. Irma Čehić (Faculty of Education), Doz. Dr. Valida Akšamija (Academy of Music), Mr. Sc. Nela Hasanbegović (Academy of Fine Arts), Doz. Dr. Larisa Kasumagić-Kafedžić, Doz. Dr. Amela Dautbegović, Meliha Suljagić, MA (Faculty of Philosophy) addressed the attendees as lecturers.
The round table was attended by representatives of professional assets of certain subject areas and professional associates, teachers of elementary and secondary schools of the Sarajevo Canton, teachers from the Faculty of Philosophy, the head of the library of the Faculty of Philosophy, as well as students of the Department of Pedagogy.
