The IX Inter-Chair Meeting of Management, Organization and Entrepreneurship Departments of Southeastern Europe successfully completed

THE IV INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION - THE LAST TRENDS IN MANAGEMENT

SARAJEVO, 21 SEPTEMBER 2019 - The IX Inter-Cathedral Meeting in Sarajevo (MANIKS 2019) ended today with the presentation of previous Management, Organization and Entrepreneurship of South-East Europe Departments meetings’ effects and proposals for further joint activities in the field of research.

The MANIKS 2019 program focused on the latest trends in management in the context of new technology development and the role of the academic community in articulating contemporary curricula. Academic and business community representatives from the entire region agreed that the IV Industrial Revolution promotes a whole new paradigm of management that does not have many points of contact with the previous one. “The new management is based on technology under artificial intelligence that promotes completely new concepts that have not yet been articulated” said Prof. Dr. Aziz Šunje.

Dr. Šunje added: “Faculties must remain an oasis where students can be directed and informed by teachers. The lecturer should be a mentor to help students profile and implement their goals. The main question is how profoundly the professors desire to adapt and change the approaches taken so far.” Professor Šunje believes that one of the academic community’s tasks is to articulate directions of action, and emphasized that knowledge differs, which is a great challenge that will surely trigger radical changes in teaching and curricula.

The host of the X Inter-Chair Meeting of Management, Organization and Entrepreneurship Departments will be held at the Faculty of Economics, University of Rijeka in 2020.
