Open Lecture Commemorating the 100th Anniversary of Dr. Muhamed Hadžijahić’s Birth
The University of Sarajevo Institutes for History, Language and Oriental Studies in cooperation with the Rectorate organized a commemorative open lecture on the occasion of the 100th Anniversary of Dr. Muhamed Hadžijahić’s birth within the University of Sarajevo Day event Day of the University of Sarajevo, Institute of History, Institute of Language and Oriental Institute in cooperation with the Rectorate of the University of Sarajevo, on December 19, 2018 organized a public debate about the life and work of Dr. Muhamed Hadžijahić.
On behalf of the University of Sarajevo Rector, Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj, Prof. Dr. Maida Čohodar Husić, Vice-Rector for Quality addressed the attendees. In pointing Dr. Hadžijahić’s scientific achievements and legacy, Dr. Čohodar Husić, emphasized the importance of organizing this event, pointing out that it was organized in the unity of UNSA three institutes and showed that togetherness makes a union stronger and that in synergy where everyone has their place, the proper place, the best subjects and ideas are natural.
About the importance of multidisciplinary work and engagement in the social, scientific, spiritual and cultural life of Bosnia and Herzegovina spoke:
• Dr. Sedad Bešlija (Institute of History) - Dr. Muhamed Hadžijahić’s family background,
• Dr. Adnan Kadrić (Oriental Institute) – Review of dr. Muhamed Hadžijahić’s biography/ bibliography,
• Mr. Sc. Muhidin Pelesić (Institute of History) - History writer as its active accomplice and co-creator,
• Dr. Alen Kalajdžija (Institute of Language) - About the importance of Dr. Muhamed Hadžijahić in Bosnian philological research,
• Hadžem Hajdarević (Institute of Language) - Ethical aspect of Hadžijahić's scientific research on the traditional values of the country of Bosnia.
The lecture took place in the cordial and warm atmosphere of promoting the positive values of our society and their influence on the historical, political and cultural flows in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
