Academy held on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the restart of activities at the Sub-Department for the Slovenian language and the opening of a newly equipped classroom
On Tuesday, 15 October 2024, at the University of Sarajevo - Faculty of Philosophy, a Ceremonial Academy was held on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the restart of the Slovenian Language Sub-Department and the newly equipped classroom 154 was officially opened.
The event was attended in front of the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Bosnia and Herzegovina by: H. E. Mr. Damian Sedar, ambassador, Dr. Zvone Žigon, deputy ambassador, and Mr. Marko Polajžer, economic advisor, and in front of the University of Sarajevo: Prof. Dr. Tarik Zaimović, rector, Prof. Dr. Dženana Husremović, vice-rector for teaching and student affairs, Prof. Dr. Kemal Durić, vice-rector for international cooperation, and Prof. Dr. Dušanka Bošković, vice-rector for quality.
The ceremonial academy was also attended by guests from the Republic of Slovenia, Assoc. Ph.D. Damjan Huber, head of the Center for the Slovenian Language as a Second and Foreign Language of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Ljubljana and assistant professor. Ph.D. Mojca Nidorfer, manager of the Slavic language program at foreign universities at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Ljubljana.
In front of the host, the University of Sarajevo - Faculty of Philosophy, the event was attended by: Assoc. Prof.Dr. Minka Džanko, Vice Dean for Research, International Academic Cooperation and Publishing, Academician Prof. Dr. Marina Katnić Bakaršić, Prof. Dr. Adijata Ibrišimović Šabić, head of the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures, Prof. Dr. Amela Ljevo Ovčina, responsible teacher for the Slavic language at the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures, as well as professors, colleagues, associates, current and former students of the Slavic language.
The ceremonial academy, where representatives of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Sarajevo, the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Bosnia and Herzegovina, guests from Slovenia and representatives of the Department of Slavic Languages and Literature addressed the large audience, was moderated by Dr. Pavel Ocepek, lector for the Slavic language, and the artistic program was performed by Tijana Vignjević, conductor and teacher of the orchestra at the High School of Music in Sarajevo.
A special surprise was the recording of the personal address of the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, Mrs. Tanja Fajon.
On this occasion, the representatives of the Center for Slavic as a Second and Foreign Language of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Ljubljana presented a Certificate of Appreciation for the demonstrated long-term successful academic cooperation in the field of Slavic Studies to the University of Sarajevo - Faculty of Philosophy and the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures.
After the official part of the program, the ceremonial opening of the newly equipped classroom 154 was held. The furnishing of the classroom was financed by the Republic of Slovenia from the Fund for International Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid of the Republic of Slovenia. On that occasion, the Vice-Dean Prof. Dr. Džanko handed over the key to the ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Damijan Sedar, who handed over the newly equipped classroom with a symbolic act of unlocking it. The solemn act was followed by a musical composition on the harmonica performed by Husejn Bajraktarević, a student of the fourth grade of the Sarajevo High School of Music.
The program ended with a reception with the financial support of the Master-H d.o.o. company. and the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Bosnia and Herzegovina and socializing in the hall of the Faculty of Philosophy.
