The Annual Conference of the European Criminological Society ceremonially opened - Science can provide solutions to current world challenges
At the University of Sarajevo Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, on Wednesday, 29 August 2018, the Annual Conference of the European Criminological Society was ceremonially opened. It is about the second largest criminological world event called “Crimes against human beings and crimes against humanity: Impacts in Modern Criminology)”. The conference was organized by the UNSA Faculty of Criminalistics, Criminology and Security Studies and the event brought together 1,400 participants from 70 countries including world-famous criminologists, authors of the most famous and most active theories explaining the behavior of perpetrators.
President of the European Criminological Society Prof. Dr Gorazd Meško said that the conference is attended by experts from different parts of the world who have different experiences.
Dean of the Faculty of Criminalistics, Criminology and Security Studies, University of Sarajevo, Prof. Dr. Nedžad Korajlić said that this conference is important for the entire society.
UNSA Rector, Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj emphasized that the Conference is the largest scientific gathering organized at the University of Sarajevo in the last few years.
Among the plenary sessions will be the participation of world-famous criminologists, including Serge Brammertz, chief prosecutor of the former ICTY, Prof. Michael Gottfredson and prof. Mike Levi.
