Minister for Science, Higher Education and Youth of Sarajevo Canton, Prof. Dr. Adna Mesihović, with colleagues, visited the UNSA Faculty of Dental Medicine the Dental Medicine Clinical Center.
Faculty of Dental Medicine Dean, Prof. Dr. Muhamed Ajanović introduced the guests to the Faculty's work and plans for further improvement and development of this higher education institution.
He pointed out that the main goal of the Faculty is to develop into a leading healthcare institution in the field of dentistry and dental medicine in Bosnia and Herzegovina and beyond. He also emphasized that the Faculty currently provides the most modern working conditions for students, patients, staff and dentists as part of continuous education. Prof. Dr. Mirjana Gojkov-Vukelić briefly presented the seven chairs of the Faculty of Dentistry with the dental clinical center of the University of Sarajevo as the basic teaching and scientific unit.
Minister Mesihović pointed out that this faculty is extremely important in the community, and that continuous work on the improvement of dental practices in Sarajevo Canton is recognized.
“The UNSA Faculty of Dental Medicine educates experts in the field of dentistry who are today recognized not only in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also in the world. Their work plays a key role in research and improvement of dental practice, which also contributes to innovations in the health sector. Also, for the Canton of Sarajevo, the prevention and treatment of oral diseases is extremely important, which directly affects the general health of the entire population. The practical approach to the scientific processes of the Faculty of Dentistry is one of the most prominent in the Canton of Sarajevo, and as such can be an example for other higher education institutions. "The Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Youth of Sarajevo Canton will continue to be a partner of the Faculty in striving for new, modern and internationally recognized scientific and research practices, which result in the education of the best staff," said Minister Mesihović.
During the visit, a tour of the Faculty's premises was arranged and the renovated laboratories equipped with the most modern equipment were presented, which provide students with excellent conditions for studying and practical learning, as well as the academic and scientific staff an opportunity to progress and achieve excellent results in research and work, with the aim of providing the best protection of the oral health of the community.
