Informative sessions on Erasmus+ exchange for international students and students of the University of Sarajevo
To provide the necessary information, the International Relations Office of the University of Sarajevo organized an informative "pre-arrival" session on the Erasmus+ exchange for foreign students who will stay at the University of Sarajevo for the next semester and a "pre-departure" session for the students of the University of Sarajevo who got the opportunity to visit at European universities in the following (summer) semester 2023/2024. The session was held on Monday, December 18, 2023, with an online session for international students at 10:00 a.m. and a live session for domestic students starting at noon.
The session's goal was to provide information about the Erasmus+ scholarship, obligations and responsibilities that student-scholarships face before the start of mobility, during and after returning to their home institution. Students had the opportunity to receive advice on the costs that await them, travel, accommodation, and organization of classes at a foreign university, as well as other practical and academic information that may be useful to them.
In the next semester, 100 students of the University of Sarajevo will implement their mobility in 20 European countries (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, France, Greece, Croatia, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Germany, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Turkey), that is, to 52 partner higher education institutions within the Erasmus+ program. These are students of the first, second and integrated study cycles.
When it comes to incoming mobility, the University of Sarajevo will host 31 international students coming from 11 countries across Europe (Czech Republic, France, Italy, Lithuania, Germany, Greece, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain and Turkey) and from 18 partner higher education institutions with which we cooperate within the Erasmus+ program.
The International Relations Office, with vice deans, coordinators, and associates at the University of Sarajevo, coordinates the Erasmus+ program and enables the acquisition of international experience for students of all cycles and teaching and non-teaching staff. Thanks to active work, constant promotion, organization of various international events, and cooperation with over 230 foreign partner institutions (in the period 2014-2021) and so far 145 foreign partner institutions (for the period 2021-2027) throughout Europe, our University has contributed to the realization of over 3500 international mobilities, incoming and outgoing students, teaching and non-teaching staff.
