Reception for young B-H Researchers
Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj, University of Sarajevo Rector hosted on Wednesday, 20 June 2018, young Bosnian researchers: Drs. Admir Greljo, Adnan Mehonić, Dženan Lapandić, Suad Krilašević, Selver Pepić and Nudžeim Selimović.
These outstanding researchers are founders of the Association for the Advancement of Science and Technology (ANNT), which aims to promote science and technology, strengthen the cooperation between scientific research institutions and industry, and strengthen the international competitiveness of domestic higher education and research institutions in the field of science and technology, as well as linking young and successful scientists and experts with the aim of improving the conditions and infrastructure for dealing with scientific and research work in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The ANNT Association advocates the return of scientists and experts to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
UNSA Rector, Prof. Škrijelj said he was honored to host young men who were the extraordinary talents and our best ambassadors in the world of science. “Their results undoubtedly show that BiH and University of Sarajevo do give excellent education which is both acceptable and recognizable in the Europe and the world – their diplomas do not present an obstacle on young men’s path to continue studying abroad or being globally employable” he also added.
Young researchers to be received by Rector were the best students in their generations and University of Sarajevo Golden Badge recipients, as well as of prestigious international awards. Dr. Admir Greljo is the winner of a two-year contract in a position that is annually granted to two candidates from non-member CERN countries (European Organization for Nuclear Research). Since last year, Dr. Adnan Mehonić has been a member of the academic staff at the Department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering at University College London, and Dženan Lepandić attended the master studies of Robotics, Systems and Management at ETH in Zurich and is employed as assistant at the Institute for Dynamic Systems and Management at ETH, Zurich. Selver Pepić is the first winner of the ETH Foundation's ETH Zurich scholarship for excellence, while Suad Krilašević is final year student at the Master studies at the University of Sarajevo Faculty of Electrical Engineering and one of organizers of the Sarajevo Innovation Festival, the League of Robots and Arduino Battles. Nudžeim Selimović is a scholarship recipient for the ETH Foundation's Excellence Scholarships for ETH Study and a lecturer at numerous physics camps, a co-facilitator of the project "Working with students of special interest in physics and preparing for competitions".
The meeting was an opportunity for discussing cooperation among young researchers, institutions where they currently work and the University of Sarajevo.
