A Meeting with Partner Institutions on the National Library Awareness Day Organization

As one of the most important activities of the ERASMUS+ Capacity Building and Higher Education Project (CBHE) – “Library Network Support Services (LNSS): Modernising libraries in the Western Balkan countries through staff development and reforming of library services” is the realization of the National Library Awareness Day. On this occasion, on Wednesday 23 May 2018, a meeting was held with potential partner institutions in the University of Sarajevo Rectorate. Partner institutions will enable the successful realization of the National Library Awareness Day.

The goal of the National Library Awareness Day is to remind citizens of the importance of library participation in building a knowledge society. The libraries (national, higher education, school, public and special) - partners from the Sarajevo Canton will participate in the promotion of their services on 7 September 2018, offering various educational contents (promotions, poetry, roundtables, exhibitions, etc.). The project is planned to promote strong libraries, their library services and in general, information and library sciences.

Prof. Dr. Maida Čohodar Husić, University of Sarajevo Vice-Rector for Quality addressed the participants and expressed the satisfaction that the University of Sarajevo is a partner in a project promoting the importance of libraries. A common interest and motive is to promote a book and a written word.

The presentation of the National Library Awareness Day was held by Mr. Sc. Nadina Grebović-Lendo, National Day of the Action Group chair (National Library Day) - National Library Awareness Day (Head of the Library of the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Sarajevo), recalling the activities that were carried out at the partner institutions when this day was celebrated in 2017 and stressed the importance of engagement of partner institutions and gave instructions and instructions on the possibilities of marking this day at partner institutions.

This year's central event will be held at the University of Sarajevo Faculty of Philosophy through spending some time with librarians.
