Elettra Sincrotrone Center and University of Sarajevo Cooperation Announced
University of Sarajevo representatives, Prof. Dr. Dženana Husremović, Vice-Rector for Research and Prof. Dr. Azra Gazibegović-Busuladžić, Head of the Department of Physics, Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics met on 9 October 2019 with a representative of the International Cooperation Service of the Eletrra Sincrotrone Center in Trieste, Mr. Fabio Mazzolini and Head of the Department of Science and Culture of the BiH Ministry of Civil Affairs, Mr. Ammar Miraščija.
The Center’s activities were presented at the meeting, as well as proposals for cooperation with the University of Sarajevo. Mr. Mazzolini, on behalf of the Center, expressed his wish to partner with the University of Sarajevo to gain knowledge, share experiences with our young researchers, and open up opportunities for improvement and advancement.
Call for positions for doctoral and post-doctoral students at the Elettra Sincrotrone Center for the academic year 2020/2021 has been announced, as well as the organization of an information event at the University of Sarajevo in early 2020, in order to disseminate information on doctoral and post-doctoral positions, if other activities of the Center.
Elettra Sincrotrone in Trieste is a multidisciplinary international research center specializing in the creation of high quality synchrotron and laser light of free electrons, and their application in various scientific fields.
This center is part of CERIC, the Central Consortium for Research Infrastructures in Europe, and is a significant partner in H2020 and ESFRI projects.
