Cooperation between the Ministry of Communications and Transport of BiH and the University of Sarajevo
On Wednesday, 11 April 2018, the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on the Scientific, Educational and Professional Cooperation between the Ministry of Communications and Transport of BiH and the University of Sarajevo was held. This signing was attended by Minister of Communications and Transport of BiH, Mr. Sci, Ismir Jusko, and
“The mutual cooperation will be carried out pro bono through various forms, especially through the joint organization of research activities, symposia, conferences, seminars, roundtables and workshops, the exchange of professional and scientific information through the exchange of journals, electronic journals, publications, textbooks and other professional materials, resources and services on the reciprocity basis, as well as through studying problems of common interest and finding the best ways of solving them “ said Minister Jusko.
Recalling the extremely good cooperation between the Ministry and University of Sarajevo, Rector Škrijelj said: “The University of Sarajevo will use this opportunity to prove itself as a reliable partner in all the deliberate efforts aimed at the development and progress of our society and the state.”
After signing the Memorandum, the University of Sarajevo and domestic operators - BH Telecom d.d. Sarajevo, Logosoft d.o.o. Sarajevo and Telemach d.o.o. Sarajevo -signed an additional Memorandum on the Establishment of the First Neutral Traffic Exchange Point in Bosnia and Herzegovina, making Bosnia and Herzegovina no longer the only country in the region lacking this kind of Internet infrastructure.
Dr. Elmedin Selimanović, Director of the University Telecommunication Center UTIC, stressed the benefits of signing the Memorandum on the Establishment of the First Neutral Traffic Exchange Point in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Internet Exchange Point (IXP) is a platform allowing local traffic to remain local, a vital element of the national Internet infrastructure that allows ISPs to connect together, as well as the mode of traffic exchange among all IXP members.
