CSA Conference

Multidisciplinary Approach is Key of the CSA Conference Success

The international scientific conference “Transformational Processes in Sport – Sports Achievements” to be held in Budva from 30 March to 2 April, should contribute to the creation of a new access philosophy of science in the area of sport. This philosophy would enable persons dealing with it in the region to think and act according to international trends – assessed University of Sarajevo Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Izet Radjo.
In an interview for the University of Montenegro’s website, Prof. Dr. Izet Radjo said that he expected the conference, organized by the Montenegrin Sports Academy in cooperation with the University of Montenegro and the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education, to raise awareness that young people were becoming leaders of scientific ideas and thoughts.

The CSA will again gather the top names in the field of sports science. How important is it for the further development of sports science, and education in this area, when looking from the regional perspective?
Currently sports science in the world has evolved from operating at the local level into complex multi-disciplinary projects and research. I must admit that we in the region are staying behind European trends a lot. In my humble estimation, one can say freely that something that was hot in the world 10 years ago is getting attention here and turning into the subject about which we speak. In doing so, I cannot say that the blame is on scientific and sports officials who act accordingly with available information on trends in sports science in time; however simple systemic solutions that would monitor work on something new there do not exist. Having a chance to listen top-notch lectures in the field is indeed a privilege, but I expect the Budva conference to contribute more to the raising of awareness of the position of sports science in other systems and that our lecturers convey the latest “philosophy” and “systemic thinking” in the field of sport so that we could thing and act according to international trends. I think if teachers succeed in influencing the philosophy of reflection, we will make a huge step towards the prosperity of sports science in the region.
