The University of Sarajevo Senate held its 47th session on 28 September 2016 with fourteen agenda items.
At the session, Prof. Dr. Muharem Avdispahic, HonDSc, Rector presented Decisions on the appointment of Dr. Senija Milisic Director of the UNSA Institute for History, Prof. Dr. Nedzad Korajlic, Faculty of Criminology and Security Studies Dean, Prof. Dr. Samir Causevic, Faculty of Transport and Communication Dean and Prof. Dr. Mirza Dautbasic, Faculty of Forestry Dean.
Senators adopted a Decision on adoption of amendments to the UNSA Statute concerning the number of UNSA vice-rectors and professional and advisory body of the Senate.
56 teachers from sixteen Faculties and one Academy were elected into academic titles and 4 in scientific titles at one Institute.
The Senate of the University of Sarajevo has decided to announce the competition calls for election of academic staff at: Faculties of Architecture, Economics, Electrical Engineering, Islamic Studies, Sports and Physical Education, Health Studies, Philosophy, Medicine, Agriculture and Food Sciences, Law, Natural Sciences and Mathematics, Dental Medicine with Clinics, Forestry and Veterinary Medicine in Sarajevo.
The approval was granted for the involvement of academic personnel and visiting professors at Faculties of Electrical Engineering, Political Sciences, Philosophy, Civil Engineering and the Faculty of Medicine.
The plan for teaching implantation was approved at the Faculty of Philosophy (with a list of teachers) for 2016/2017.
The Senate gave consent to the proposed amendments to the curricula.
The approval was granted for following competition calls for candidates enrolling in the third cycle (doctoral studies) at: Faculty of Islamic Studies, Faculty of Criminology and Security Studies in 2016/2017.
The Senate gave its consent to an additional enrollment in the first year of the first cycle of studies at the University of Sarajevo in 2016/2017 at organizational units that meet the spatial and personnel capacities in accordance with the standards and norms for higher education activities in the Sarajevo Canton - Academy of Fine Arts and the Faculty of Health Studies. The approval for the additional enrollment is passed to the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Sarajevo Canton and Sarajevo Canton Government for final decision.
The Senate approved the launch of procedures for the election of a member of the Board of the University of Sarajevo among the students, in accordance with the Statute.
At the session, a Decision was enacted that stipulates the signing of a collaboration agreement between the University of Sarajevo and the Institution of Ombudsmen for Human Rights in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Senate adopted the Report of the University Publishing Council and approved publishing one publication.
The Senate adopted the Report of the Commission for the recognition of foreign higher education qualifications and the Decision on the establishment of the Commission for the implementation of the academic recognition of foreign higher education qualifications.
At the session, the Senate representative was appointed for signing the Decision of the UNSA Rector resolution due to the expiration of the term of office and signing contracts with the newly elected Rector of the University of Sarajevo.
