There in front of you is presented the Guide for future University of Sarajevo sophomores in which are contained general information on studies, the path you will take in receiving your future advancement and development. For certain, you are informed that our University and your alma mater are the oldest, largest, best ranked, most prestigious, versatile and the best University. Here why is so!

THE OLDEST! Its founding in 1949 accelerated the general social and cultural progress of Bosnia and Herzegovina, simultaneously following the path of European humanist tradition of Humboltian University, continuously keeping in mind connecting of research and education, thus ennobling the BH academic community.
The University of Sarajevo is the driving force behind founding and alma mater of all public BH universities: Mostar, Banja Luka and Tuzla.

THE LARGEST! The University of Sarajevo has 25 Faculties and Academies as full member institutions, five research Institutes, three Centers, five joined and five other members.
THE BEST RANKED! When looking for the University of Sarajevo's position at the ranking lists, the UNSA occupies the top position in Bosnia and Herzegovina. At the Webometrics list, the University is ranked among top 8% of all ranked Universities in the world.

THE MOST PRESTIGIOUS! At the moment, there are approximately 31000 students enrolled. Since its founding, 160000 students have graduated; more than 16000 earned their MA and 3000 PhD degrees.
The University of Sarajevo has received institutional accreditation, as well as international accreditation for certain study programs conducted at Faculties and Academies.
40% of all teachers from Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina deliver lectures at the University of Sarajevo. Students from regional countries are enrolled in our University including approximately 1000 from USA, Italy, Brazil, Kenya, Syria and many other countries. Regarding the international relations, the University of Sarajevo has 158 academic cooperation agreements signed with prestigious universities from all over the world.

THE MOST VERSATILE! Because it covers areas of Humanities, social, medical, natural, mathematical, biotechnical, technical sciences and Arts that are studied at its Faculties and Academies, giving the possibilities to enroll at one of 500 study programs. Students can enroll at our University as students with fulltime, fulltime self-financing and part-time status. Also, you can enroll at Distance Learning studies, as well as in numerous studies delivered in English. In the end, diplomas received after graduating are recognized in the European Higher Education Area.

THE BEST! Through application of Bologna principles, students enrolled at University of Sarajevo have the opportunity to receive education of high quality, develop ideas and improve their competencies. Students also have at their disposal the international exchange via numerous mobility programs; among Erasmus Mundus has a special place because the University of Sarajevo has been participating in it since 2008. The University of Sarajevo also gives opportunities of wining scholarships from its own funds "Suada Dilberović“ and “Academician Edhem Camo.”
